BEB 24

If you look at the specifications of the BEN-E-BIKEs, you will often find the abbreviation “BEB” for the components used.

Quite simply – these are all parts that are either made specifically for BEN-E-BIKE (BEB) according to their own, child-friendly specifications.

We know very well that quality conscious buyers like to rely on well known manufacturers – however, these only rarely offer components that are really suitable for use in children’s bicycles. And that’s why we never tire of optimising every little detail of our bikes to meet the needs of the younger generation.

Suspension forks used on children’s bikes are all too often considered “expendable”. Unfortunately, this cost cutting exercise is confirmed by miserable performance. Many suspension forks look good, but significantly increase the overall weight of the bike without really improving ride comfort, because in most cases neither spring rate nor damping (if any) are adapted to the low rider weight.

The SMOOTHER PRO suspension fork, which has been specially adapted by Spinner for BEN-E-BIKE, shows that things can be done differently.

  • Ideally adapted to the weight of the rider by air pressure

BEB 24 Fork

Seemingly only a detail, but of enormous importance – BEN-E-BIKE pedals are small, CNC-milled works of art.

Specifically designed for us, with especially short titanium axles , they allow a lower Q-factor and also reduce the risk of slipping when pedalling standing up. The replaceable pins ensure a secure hold of the feet at all times, even in wet conditions. The risk of injury from the pins is minimal – during all tests within the two-year development phase there was not a single scratch on the legs of our little test riders!

BEB Pedal

Our handlebars have a width of 560 mm for the TWENTY, 600 mm for the TWENTYFOUR and 640 mm for the TWENTYSIX for optimum handling.

The handlebar itself is extremely stable yet uniquely lightweight thanks to the carbon construction.

BEB Bars

So that the wide handlebars do not lead to ‘long arms’, the stem has a length of only 40mm. In addition, its weight is an unrivalled 89g, without any compromise in stability.

BEB Stem

Steering precision requires exact guidance of the fork – and that’s why all of the BEN-E-BIKE head sets are equipped with sealed industrial bearings that guarantee maximum longevity.

  • Angled Contact Bearing (ACB), fully sealed
  • Weight – 84 g



BEB Headset

The bespoke saddle, made of a special nylon material, has in many tests been rated superior in terms of comfort to conventional padded children’s saddles. In the case of an accidental hard impact for the child on the saddle, the structure of the surface allows a much greater flexibility.

  • Cool ‘spider’ design and maximum seating comfort thanks to the wide, flexible seat, which also absorbs no moisture when the bike is in the rain

Too good to hide in the frame, the BEB seatpost is a quality item which many a parent would be proud to ride!

Why are the BEN-E-BIKEs so light? Because we also use the ‘best of the best’ in the places where you wouldn’t expect on a children’s bike. The spindle of the front quick release is not made of steel but of a high-strength titanium alloy.

Even if we have many parts made to our own specification, there are components that we just can not do better. The front hub of PLP is a prime example of this – especially light and thanks to sealed bearings designed for maximum longevity.
